Sergi Lozano

Sergi Lozano is a Research Fellow at Dept. of Computer Sciences & Mathematics in Universitat Rovira i Virgili. He is currently working on his PhD research supervised by Dr. Arenas. The PhD studies are focused on the interplay between complex relational substrates and emergent social phenomena, and its application to different issues related to Sustainable Development like, for instance, interactions between social and ecological systems.

Alexandre Arenas

Dr. Alex Arenas is Assistant Professor (permanent position) at Dept. of Computer Sciences & Mathematics in Universitat Rovira i Virgili. His research interests cover theory of complex networks and applications of complex networks in biology, technological networks and social sciences. He received his PhD in physics from Universitat de Barcelona in 1997. His research has been published in top level journals including Nature, PNAS and Physical Review Letters. He has starting been concerned with problems in social sciences upon collaboration with Fernando Vega-Redondo and Antonio Cabrales in studies of diffusion of innovations in socio-economic environments. Some of the results of these studies have been published in Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control and in Journal of Economic Behaviour & Organization.
