Kyle Wagner

Kyle Wagner is a Senior Engineer for SPARTA, Inc. He received a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Cognitive Science from Indiana University in 2000. He performed research on the evolution of communication and speciation using artificial life computer simulations and biologically-inspired models during a 2-year postdoctorate at the University of Maryland, Baltimore and UMIACS at College Park. He currently designs, analyzes and implements computer simulations, computer systems, and genetic algorithm models for a variety of scientific applications.

Kerry L. Shaw

Kerry Shaw is Professor in the Department of Neurobiology and Behavior at Cornell Univesity, Ithaca, NY, USA. She received her PhD from Washington University in St. Louis in Population Biology in 1993. She is interested in the evolution of mate recognition systems and its causal connection to the origin of species. Her laboratory studies the ecology, behavior, genetics and phylogenetics of the evolution of mate recognition and speciation, using the endemic Hawaiian cricket genus Laupala as a model system. Laupala has the fastest rate of speciation known among all invertebrates, making it an exceptional model for such questions.
