Luca Arciero is senior payment system expert at the Payment Oversight Office of the Bank of Italy. His research interests refer to payment system and money market issues. He is also interested in microdata analysis, with a special focus on household data. He has carried out surveys on the adoption of Information and Communication Technologies among the Italian service firms. He has published in a number of banking sector journals and has presented various papers in international conferences in banking and finance.

Claudia Biancotti
Claudia Biancotti is an economist and statistician at the Directorate General Statistics of the European Central Bank, on secondment from the Bank of Italy. She is currently working as a methodologist for the Household Finance and Consumption Network. Her interests center around the study of inequality, poverty and the behavioral correlates thereof. She has also conducted research on nonparametric methods for econometric analysis and measurement error in surveys. Her latest publications appeared in the Journal of Economic Inequality and the Review of Income and Wealth; she has presented her papers at a number of international conferences in economics and statistics.

Leandro D'Aurizio
Leandro D'Aurizio is senior statistical researcher at the Sample Survey Division within the Research Department of the Bank of Italy. His main research interest is microdata analysis, with a special focus on firm data. He has extensively dealt with investment evaluation and forecasting and with problems connected with constant-price estimation methods. He has also carried out some research into outlier detection methods. Agent-based modeling is his last interest as an alternative to traditional estimation techniques. He has published in the Journal of Official Statistics, in the Rivista Italiana degli Economisti and has presented various papers in international statistical meetings.

Claudio Impenna
Claudio Impenna is a senior economist at the Payment Systems and Markets Oversight Department of the Bank of Italy. He has been involved in several groups carrying out analisys and oversight of payment systems at the ESCB and BIS level, as well as in technical assistance initiatives in the same fields on behalf of the ESCB and the IMF. His papers have been published in several Italian journals, in Research in Banking and Finance and in the Proceedings of the Joint Central Bank Reserch Conferences on Systemic Risks; they have also been presented in international conferences in mometary economics and payment systems. His research interests include the money and financial markets microstructure, their performance in the euro area and their interlinkages with the payment system.
