Mehdi Saqalli
Mehdi Saqalli, PhD from Universit catholique de Louvain (Belgium), 2 MSc from SupAgro Montpellier and Universit Pantheon-Sorbonne Paris (France), is an agronomist and a social science & modeling scientist, at present with the Observatoire Midi-Pyrenees (OMP). His research focuses on the integration of qualitative social factors and constraints in modeling approaches concerning human & environment issues (human demography and inequalities, responses to project development actions, water or game resources management), mainly in developing countries, using dedicated spatial agent-based platforms.

Charles L. Bielders
Charles Bielders obtained his PhD in Soil Science from Cornell University (USA) in 1994, after which he worked for ICRISAT in Niger on land degradation and fertility management in millet-based systems. He is currently Professor at the Université catholique de Louvain. The main focus of his research is on land degradation by wind and water erosion and soil conservation.

Bruno Gerard
Bruno Gérard is coordinator of the Systemwide Livestock Programme based at ILRI, Ethiopia. He has a PhD degree in Agronomy from University of Hohenheim and Master degrees in Agricultural Engineering and Irrigation Engineering respectively from Université catholique de Louvain and Utah State University. He has worked for 17 years at ICRISAT based in Niamey, Niger. His research interests are in applied remote sensing, systems research, decision support, and soil fertility management at various scales. From 2003 to 2008 he coordinated a research for development project on decision support under which this research was performed.
