Nina Schwarz
Nina Schwarz is a scientist at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ in Leipzig, Germany. She is a member of the Department Computational Landscape Ecology and head of the working group on urban form, dynamics and function. An environmental scientist by training, she holds a PhD in economic and social sciences. Her main research interests are quantifying urban form and simulating underlying social processes as well as impacts on selected ecosystem services, such as climate regulation.

Daniel Kahlenberg
Daniel Kahlenberg is an employee at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ in Leipzig, Germany. He is a member of the Department Computational Landscape Ecology and associated with the working group on urban form, dynamics and function. Educated as a computer scientist, he holds a degree in computer sciences. His main working interests are implementation support for simulating complex systems and utilizations from the field of functional programming for modeling tasks.

Dagmar Haase
Dagmar Haase is professor for Landscape Ecology and Land Use Modeling at the Humboldt University Berlin and works as guest scientist at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ in Leipzig, Germany, Department Computational Landscape Ecology. Educated as geographer, she leads now an interdisciplinary group working on the integration of different types of land use models, systemizing and modeling urban ecosystem services as well as urban risks/resilience at the Humboldt University.

Ralf Seppelt
Is head of the Department Computational Landscape Ecology at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ), Leipzig, Germany, and Professor for Landscape Ecology at Martin-Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Germany. His main research focus is the development of simulation models and analysis tools for solving environmental resource management questions including human-environment interactions. He studied applied mathematics and holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and System Analysis.
