Kurt Richardson is currently the Associate Director for research at the Institute for the Study of Coherence and Emergence. He undertakes research into complexity-based thinking and how it might provide insight into the management of complexity in all walks of life. His work in this area has been published in a variety of academic journals, and has been presented at numerous international conferences and seminars. Kurt has a Bachelors Honors Degree in Physics, a Masters Degree in Space Engineering and Astronautics, and a Doctorate in Physics and Engineering. In his prior position as consultant to the British Ministry of Defense, Kurt developed a framework that facilitated the development of multi-methodological approaches, mixing both physical and social science perspectives for the consideration of complex, poorly defined systems. His current interests include: complexity-informed philosophy; quasi-'critical pluralism'; complexity-based methodologies; the incommensurability of meaning; and the ontological status of knowledge.
