Ian S. Lustick is Professor of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania. He is the author of Unsettled States, Disputed Lands: Britain and Ireland, France and Algeria, Israel and the West Bank/Gaza. His current research is devoted to integrating agent-based modeling with techniques of structured focused comparison of complex historical cases and applying them to tasks of prediction and explanation that lie beyond the capacity of prevailing approaches in the social sciences.
