Stephen M. Younger is the Director of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency within the U.S. Department of Defense. He received a BA in physics from the Catholic University of America and an M.S. and Ph.D. in physics from the University of Maryland. He is currently on a leave of absence from the Los Alamos National Laboratory where he has led programs in supercomputing, experimental physics, and weapons development. He has published extensively in computational atomic physics. His interests include large-scale simulations of physical and social systems.
