Benjamin M. Eidelson

Ben Eidelson is a high school senior at Akiba Hebrew Academy and will be entering Yale University in the fall. His current research, conducted at the Solomon Asch Center for Study of Ethnopolitical Conflict at the University of Pennsylvania, focuses on bioterrorism, particularly on infectious diseases transmitted through and gated by social networks. Before beginning this work he was involved in developing agent-based models of media forces and the role of American policy in mitigating the regional consequences of Israeli-Palestinian violence. He is also co-creator of the MedGame medical education computer-game/surgical simulation system.

Ian Lustick

Ian S. Lustick is a Professor in the Political Science Department at the University of Pennsylvania where he holds the Bess W. Heyman Chair.  With Vladimir Dergachev he is the originator and primary developer of the PS-I based modeling platform.  Professor Lustick's books include Unsettled States, Disputed Lands: Britain and Ireland, France and Algeria, Israel and the West Bank and Gaza (1993); and For the Land and the Lord:  Jewish Fundamentalism in Israel (1988).  His articles on ethnic conflict, Middle East politics, American foreign policy, and social science methodology, have appeared in many scholarly journals. He currently serves as Associate Director of the Solomon Asch Center for Study of Ethnopolitical Conflict.
