Riccardo Boero

Riccardo Boero received a degree in Economics in 2000 at the University of Turin, Italy. At the beginning of 2004, he received a Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Pavia, Italy. He is actually doing a Ph.D. program in Sociology at the University of Surrey. He is interested in theoretical issues and empirical applications of Complexity Science in the field of social sciences. He is particularly interested in theoretical aspects of complex systems (emergences and fragilities), agent based models and computer tools (simulation tools, heuristics, interaction among artificial and human agents, network distributed models), empirical foundations of models (experimental and field methods), cooperation and competition dynamics, industrial districts, emergence and diffusion of innovation, and cognitive sciences (agents capabilities and decision functions).

Flaminio Squazzoni

Flaminio Squazzoni received a degree in History in 1998 at the University of Milan, Italy, and a Ph.D. in Economic Sociology in 2002 at the University of Brescia, Italy, where actually he is post-doc researcher. In 2002-2003, he has been visiting professor of 'Economic Sociology' at the University of Bergamo, Italy, and visiting professor of 'Sociology' at the Master on International Studies in Philanthropy, University of Bologna, Italy. In 2003, he has been an invited visitor at Santa Fe Institute, New Mexico, USA. Actually, he is lecturer of 'Sociology of Organisations' and 'ICT and New Forms of Organisations' at the University of Brescia.
