Juliette Rouchier

Juliette Rouchier is a researcher at GREQAM, CNRS, in Marseille, France. She got her PhD after working at CIRAD, Montpellier, France, under the supervision of François Bousquet. She then worked for two years with Scott Moss at CPM, Manchester, UK, where she participated in the FIRMA project. Her interest is to use social simulations to improve her knowledge about relations among humans, mainly focussing on notions such as: trust, learning through non-symbolic economic exchanges, interpretation and manipulation of institutions by humans, and the evolution of institutions. She also participates in the contemporary research on the validation and transmission of results obtained from multi-agent simulations.

Sophie Thoyer

Sophie Thoyer is a senior lecturer at the department of agricultural and resource economics at ENSAM, Montpellier. She has a PhD in economics from the University of London and worked as a lecturer for three years in the department of agricultural economics at Wye College. Her main research work focuses on the political economy of agricultural and environmental reforms, with a particular focus on the modelling of negotiation processes both at the local level (water management) and at the international level (WTO, convention on the biological diversity). She also works on the comparison between negotiation instruments and market-like instruments such as auctions to allocate agri-environmental contracts to farmers.
